Beaver Classic - Commonly Asked Questions:

• Is the Friday Night Warm-Up really included?

  • We plan to kick-off this event at the shore of Lake Darling on Friday, January 19th at 4:30pm, where we will have a moment of silence/dedication for our good friend Beaver.

  • There will be an opportunity to beat the line and register for the event Friday from 2-4pm before the dedication and moment of silence.

  • There will be an opportunity to register for the event Friday from 5-9pm

  • There will then be a complimentary shuttle running every half hour from Arrowwood Resort to/from Fired Up-Bar and Grill from 5:30-11:30pm.

• Are children welcome?

  • Yes, children are welcome to participate in this event.  Registration for 5-12 years old is $40.  Children under 5 will be $10. 

  • Each participant including kids of all ages must be registered via the website separately. 

• Fishing Derby Rules?

  • All participants must have a MN Fishing License.

  • Complete rules for the derby will be posted prior to the event and posted at the registration/weigh-in tent. 

  • Fish house inspections will be randomly conducted to ensure rules are being followed.  Only fish caught between 8am and 3pm on day of the tournament can be entered for weigh-in.

• Will there be portable bathrooms available on the ice?

  • Yes, there will be a portable bathroom near the registration trailer available.  There will also be a dumpster so we can keep the ice cleaned up.  

  • Please be kind and pick-up all your garbage so we can leave the lake in perfect condition.

• Can I sleep in my fish house and still participate in the event?

  • Yes, you are welcome to enter Lake Darling at the Arrowwood Boat Launch and can set-up your fish house for the event.  The buffet and banquet will be located in the banquet room at Arrowwood Resort.

  • There is free parking for vehicles, snowmobiles, and ATV’s in the lower parking lot right at the banquet room entrance on the south side of the resort.

  • Walking to the banquet is possible and we will have side by side's transporting people.  There will be marked parking for ATV's by the banquet doors.

• What is included in the buffet dinner?

  • TBD

  • Complimentary pizza will also be served late night.

• Will there be alcohol served at the banquet?

  • There will be two cash bars set-up at the banquet with beer, wine, and cocktails. 

• What if I don't have a fish house?

  • You can still participate, we will have volunteers that can help with holes and let's hope it's nice enough to be outside for the derby.  Otherwise, there will be plenty of room in ice houses and portables.

• Is there lodging at Arrowwood Resort?

  • Yes, there are hotel rooms and townhomes available.  Our block of rooms are selling out fast.  See the link above and make sure you tell them you are reserving with 'Beaver Classic'.

• If this is the 3rd Annual, does this tournament run each year?

  • Yes, we already have the dates reserved for the 2025 Beaver Classic at the same location.
