FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What if the ice conditions are not suitable for the ice fishing to take place?

• The event will still take place. There are no refunds. 

• We are working on an indoor contingency plan that will include an indoor luck of the draw fishing tournament with all the same prizes to be given away.

Are children welcome?

• Yes, children are welcome to participate in this event.  Registration for 5-12 years old is $25.  Children under 5 will be $10. 

• Each participant including kids of all ages must be registered if they are going to fish or eat dinner.

Fishing Derby Rules?

• Please see the "ICE FISHING DERBY RULES & TOURNAMENT GUIDE" on the Event Details page for all rules and info.

Will there be portable bathrooms available on the ice?

• Yes, there will be a portable bathroom near the registration trailer available.  There will also be a dumpster so we can keep the ice cleaned up.  

• Please be kind and pick-up all your garbage so we can leave the lake in perfect condition.

Can I sleep in my fish house and still participate in the event?

• Yes, you are welcome to enter Lake Darling at the Arrowwood Boat Launch and can set-up your fish house for the event.  The buffet and banquet will be located inside at Arrowwood Resort.

• There is free parking for vehicles, snowmobiles, and ATV’s in the lower parking lot right at the banquet room entrance on the south side of the resort.

• Walking to the banquet is possible and there will be marked parking for ATV's by the banquet doors.

What is included in the buffet dinner?

• Italian Buffet - Pasta w/red meat sauce and chicken alfredo, garlic bread, salad, and assorted desserts.

Will there be alcohol served at the banquet?

• There will be cash bars set-up at the banquet with beer, wine, and cocktails. 

What if I don't have a fish house?

• You can still participate; we will have volunteers that can help with holes and let's hope it's nice enough to be outside for the derby. Otherwise, there will be plenty of room in ice houses and portables.

Is there lodging at Arrowwood Resort?

• Yes, there are hotel rooms and townhomes available.  Our block of rooms are selling out fast. See our 'Arrowwood Resort' page for more details.

Does this tournament run each year?

• Yes, we already have the dates reserved for the next Beaver Classic. It will be a yearly event!
